The 2026 Guiyang International Academic Conference on Frontier Sustainable Development of Green and Low-Carbon Agriculture and Animal Husbandry under the Belt and Road Initiative was successfully held in Guiyang, China, on July 11, 2026. During the conference, the new international academic journal Green and Low Carbon Forage and Feed (GLC Forage Feed) was officially inaugurated, marking an important milestone in promoting global research and innovation in sustainable forage and feed systems.
The conference was hosted by Guizhou University and co-organized by the College of Animal Science of Guizhou University, the Beijing Huaxia Grass Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance, and the Beijing Zhuer Biological Science Research Institute. The journal is jointly launched by Nan Yang Academy of Sciences Pte Ltd (NASS) and the Beijing Huaxia Grass Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance.
As a dedicated international journal focusing on the green and low-carbon transformation of the forage and feed industry, GLC Forage Feed aims to provide a global platform for the dissemination of cutting-edge research, technological innovation, and policy perspectives supporting sustainable agriculture, carbon neutrality, and food security.
The launch of GLC Forage Feed addresses the growing global need for a specialized academic platform covering the full value chain of sustainable forage and feed development. The journal will focus on emerging research areas, including:
- green and low-carbon forage and feed production technologies;
- exploration and utilization of unconventional forage resources;
- cellulose degradation and biomass conversion technologies;
- biosynthetic feed ingredients and innovative feed materials;
- conversion of agricultural and forestry residues into high-value feed resources;
- greenhouse gas emission reduction strategies in forage production; and
- low-carbon approaches to sustainable ruminant livestock production.
The journal is led by Editor-in-Chief Professor Yang Fuyu, a Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor and a renowned expert in China’s forage science and industry. Under his leadership, the journal has established an international editorial framework comprising leading researchers and experts from the fields of forage science, animal nutrition, agricultural biotechnology, and sustainable development.
During the inaugural ceremony, Professor Yang Fuyu, delivered a keynote speech, highlighting the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and international academic exchange in advancing sustainable forage and livestock systems.
